The factor of <br />safety required is based on the percentage of impervious cover on the site. <br />17.03 acres impervious / 21.84 acres total = 0.78 <br />The impervious cover is approximately 78% which results in a DOE factor of safety equal <br />to 42% (see Figure 1-3.1 located in appendix). M additional 5% construction factor of <br />safety was then added fbr a total factor of safety equal to 47%. The theoretical volume <br />required for the detention structure is 96,295 cubic-feet (from Theoretical Level Pool <br />Table).
