In order to
evaivate the settlement induced by the fill, settlement monitors were placed prior to fill
placement and ronitored on a periodic basis. A graph of our settlement monitor
measurements are included as the attached Plates 3 through 6. The amount of settlement
induced by the weight of the fili ranged from just under one to slightly mare than two and
one-half feet. At this time, in our opinion the settlement is completed and buildinp
constructian may commence.
, .,: :
There are no indications of groundwater seepage at the site. As site grades were raised
thirty (30) to forty (40) feet, we wouid not anticipate groundwater wiil result in major
construction related issues. However, the contractor should be made aware that
groundwater conditions can change. Perched groundwater may collect in the fill used to
raise site grades. Seepage may fluctuate depending on the season, amount of rainfall,
surface water runoff, and other factors. Generally, the water level is higher and seepage
rate is greater in the wetter winter months ltYpically October through May1.
• • •. ; •uu ._l.
General
8ased on the results of our study, it is our opinion the site can be developed generally as
planned. In our opinion, building support can be provided using conventional spread and
continuous footing foundation systems supported on the structural fill used to raise site
grades. Slab-on-grade floors may be similarly supported.
As part of our study, we conducted a reconnaissance of the west slope. We observed
some indications of past instability, including debris 'flow scarps and chutes and
indications of downslope creep in the vegetation. However, none of these features
appears to be recent or active.
This report has been prepared for speci`,ic application to this project only and in a manner
consistent with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by other members of the
profession currently practicing under similar conditions in this area for the exclusive use
of Intracorp and their representatives.
