� <br />� <br />3. El��vations of all new toilet rooms are required to show Floor, base and wall treatments, per IBC section <br />1210. <br />4. A wall section behind the Type I hood should be shown on the drewings. A wall section of wood studs <br />requires 18" clearance to �he Type I hood, per IMC 507.9. <br />a. To reduce the 18 inch clearance to the Type I hood, the section should show identify and <br />dimension the method for clearance reduction of an approved vertical combustible assemblies, <br />per IMC Table 308.6. <br />b. If the wood wall were replaced with metal studs and gypsum board, addit?onal clearance from <br />the Type I hood would not be required if the gypsum board is covered witf� stainless steel (or <br />similar smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and noncombustible materiai), per the exception to <br />IMC section 507.9. <br />5. Where the kitchen ceiling abuts the Type I hood, 18 inches of a smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and <br />noncombustible material should be shown on the drawings between the hood and the ceiling material, <br />per the exception to IMC section 507.9. <br />6. The drewings should indicate that the combustible wall (wood studs) will have 18" clearan�e to the <br />Type I hood duct, per IMC 506.3.6. <br />a. To reduc� the clearance, the drawings should indicate details of the dud covering and a <br />manufacturer's specification sheet with testing indicating one hour fire resistant enclosure in <br />accordance with ASTM E 2336, per IMC section 5063.6, exception 3. <br />7. The extent of the smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and noncombustible material behind the Type I <br />hood should be shown on the drawings in elevation and noted to extend 18 inches in all directions <br />from the hood to the full height of the hood canopy, and below the hood to the Floor base, per the <br />exception to IMC section 507.9. <br />S. On the deferred Type I Hood mechanical permit, the start and termination of the grease duct fire wrap <br />for the Type I hood ducts should be shown on building section to extend From the Type I hoods to the <br />outlet terminal, per IMC Section 506.3.10.2. The manufadurer's specification for the duct wrap should <br />be submitted with the Type I hood mechanical permit. <br />Accessibiiity <br />1. The countcr detail should indicate the required height for an accessible sales and service counter, per <br />ICC/ANSI Alll.l-2009 section 904.3. <br />2. Elevations of all new toilet rooms sliould be shown on the drawings to indicate dimensioned fixture <br />locations, grab bars, clearances, and heights, per IBC Ai17.1-2009 chapter 6. <br />Applicablc codes include: 2012 International Building Code (IBC), thc 2012 Intemational Fire Code (IFC), the <br />2012 Intema[ional Mechanical Code (IMC), the 2012 Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), and the 2009 <br />Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities A117.1-2009 (ICC/ANSI) adopted by the State of Washington, as <br />amended by the City of Everett Municipal Code (EMC).
