These <br />comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br />departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1994 Uniform Building <br />Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1995 Edition, <br />unless stated otherwise. <br />In order for the processingAof your application to continue, it will be necessary <br />to provide the Building vision with two complete new sets of drawings <br />reflecting the corrections requested. <br />I. Provide new beam size species and grade for ridge beam. <br />2. Provide smoke detectors in all sleeping rooms and in the corridor or area giving access to each <br />separate sleeping area. Detectors shall be installed on each story and in basements. In new <br />construction, detectors shall receive their primary power from the building wiring and shall be <br />equipped with a battery back-up. In existing structures, detectors may be solely battery <br />operated. <br />3. Provide min. 36" landing at all entrance/exits not more than 8" betc,w the finished floor. <br />4. Provide guardrail at deck (landings) that are 30" or more above the finished grade. <br />5. Houses heated with electricity are required to have R-30 insulation in the floor, 2x6 floor joists <br />do not have sufficient depth. Provide new joist size or provide a component compliance <br />calculation for Washington State Energy Code (WSEC). <br />6. Provide 6 mil black vapor barrier in crawl space. Lap edges. 12" <br />7. Provide min. 18"x24" crawl space access. <br />8. Provide min. 100 CFM fan in kitchen.
