Criterion No. 5: <br />The granting of the variance is consistent with the goals and policics oi the <br />Everett General Plan. <br />a. Fjpdipg�: The Everett Genersl Plan designates this property <br />as 13, Single Family Detached Residential. <br />b. Conclusions: The proposed use of the subject properiy and <br />variance is consistent with the Everett General Plan. <br />Criterion No. 6• <br />The need for the requested variance is not the result of a seif-created <br />hazdship. <br />a. Fjpdjpg�: The applicant has stated that the need for the <br />requested variance is not the result of a self created hardship <br />but one of a desire to achieve a more comfortable living <br />situation with as little disruption to the surrounding properties <br />as possible. <br />The lot size and configuration make it difficult to construct <br />any additions while meeting the required setbacks. The <br />existing structures already encroach into the sethack areas. <br />Rather than further encroaching into the required setbacks <br />with an addition, the proposal would utilize the existing <br />structures on the site. <br />b. Conclusions: The limited size of the subject property creates <br />difficulty for any proposed de��elopment of the site in addition <br />to meeting all Zoning Code requirements. The need for the <br />variance is not a self created hardship. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Boazd of Adjustmeni for the City of Everett <br />does hereby order that the requested variance be granted. <br />The action of the Boazd of Adjustment in GRAN1'ING a variance shall be <br />final and conclusivc, unless within thirty (30) days from the date of <br />issuance and signing of this order by the Chairman of the Boazd, an <br />aggrieved person or persons obtains a writ of certio:ari Lom the Superior <br />Court of Washington for Snohomish County for the purpose of r:view of <br />the action taken. <br />DATED this 8th day of September 1997. <br />Chaimian, Boar o justmen� <br />Notes to Applicant: <br />If a building permit is not obtained ��:(hin one year from the <br />above date, Uie Boarc', of Adjustment's decision shall ceasc to <br />
