The Police Department has the following security recommendations: <br />a. The perimeter doors should be solid core with 190 degree to <br />22o degree wide angle viewers and single cylinder deadbolts <br />with 1" throw and at least 3" screws securing striker <br />plate. <br />b. Windows should overlook the parking lot for increased <br />security of vehicles. <br />c. Sliding glass doors should have Charlie bars installed for <br />optimum security. <br />d. Address and apartment numbers should be in 5 inch letters and <br />visible from the street and parking lots. <br />e. The common entrance must be kept locked, with an intercom and <br />electronic access for acceptable visitors. Each floor should <br />have an access door with a electro-magnetic lock and 2-way <br />intercom. Also, lock security gate for outside stairs. <br />f. The tot lot and basketball court should be visible from <br />apartments for immediate parental. supervision. <br />g. During the final stages of construction, please contact Dick <br />Thornberry, Crime Prevention officer at 259-0416 for further <br />security recommendations. <br />15. On -site recreation facilities must be provided per Section 15.110 of <br />the Zoning Code. For the units proposed, the Parks and Recreation <br />Department concurs with plans for a 20 x 20 basketball court, grass <br />and benches, and sand box play area shown on the plan dated <br />July 17, 1990. <br />16. A minimum of 900 square feet of open space is required on the site <br />per Section 15.030 of the Zoning Code. Calculations for open space <br />areas must be provided on the plans submitted for Building Permits. <br />Landscaping in the parking areas and setbacks shall not be counted <br />in meeting this standard. The areas showing the basketball court, <br />grass and bench area, sand -box play area, and front landscaped area <br />meet requirements as shown on the plan dated July 17, 1990. <br />17. A landscape strip between the right-of-way improvements and the <br />building shall be provided. The site plan dated July 17, 1990 <br />indicates landscaping between the right-of-way improvements and <br />recreation, dumpster, and parking area as well. These areas shall <br />be included in the landscape plans. This area shall be planted with <br />Type III landscaping. <br />4 <br />a <br />
