RESOLUTION NO. 5213 <br /> A RESOLUTION adopting the Annual Transportation Improvement <br /> Program (TIP) update for 2003 to 2008. <br /> WHEREAS, RCW 35.77.010 requires that the legislative body of each city and town <br /> shall prepare and adopt a "Comprehensive Transportation Program" for the ensuing six <br /> calendar years to serve as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation facility <br /> construction program, and that said legislative body shall annually thereafter review, <br /> amend as necessary, and readopt said Comprehensive Transportation Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 35.77.010 there exists such a Comprehensive <br /> Transportation Program (known as the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program or <br /> TIP) for the City of Everett that identifies various types of transportation improvements <br /> needed, and estimated costs; and <br /> WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Everett has reviewed the work <br /> accomplished under said program, determined current and future City transportation <br /> needs, and based on these findings has prepared a Six-Year Transportation Improvement <br /> Program for the next six years; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett's Transportation Advisory Committee and Planning Commission <br /> have reviewed and recommended approval of this update; and <br /> WHEREAS, the adoption of the update to the City of Everett Transportation <br /> Improvement Program enables the City to apply for and receive various state and federal <br /> funds to implement the projects in the program; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due notice, a hearing on the proposed program was held by the City <br /> Council in accordance with RCW 35.77.010; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed program is consistent with, and implements the City of Everett <br /> Comprehensive Plan; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT that the 2003-2008 annual update of the Six-Year Transportation <br /> Improvement Program, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated <br /> herein as if fully set forth, is adopted and the City Engineer is directed to file a copy of <br /> this program with the Washington State Secretary of Transportation pursuant to RCW <br /> 35.77.010. <br /> Councd7 n Introduci 'esolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 26th day of June, 2002. <br /> Council President <br />
