'111/ 114111111111°' <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5133 <br /> A RESOLUTION adopting findings, conclusions <br /> and decision approving the waivers of appropriateness and <br /> reversing the Historical Commission's recommendation of <br /> denial of proposed waivers to allow demolition of the <br /> Moffat and Stovies Stove Shop Buildings on Hewitt <br /> Avenue. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds: <br /> 1. By resolution 24-01, adopted on July 24, 2001, the Everett Public <br /> Facilities District selected a two-block site bounded by Hewitt Avenue, Oakes Street, <br /> Wall Street, and Broadway, in the City of Everett, (referred to as Site 5) as their <br /> preferred site for the development of a Special Events Center, finding, among others, <br /> that: <br /> • Locating the facility at Site 5 will promote the City of Everett's <br /> economic development, especially that of its downtown core; <br /> • Locating the facility at Site 5 will enhance and aid in the <br /> development of Everett and Snohomish County's quality of life <br /> with the location, development, and construction of a special <br /> events center to provide diversified cultural and entertainment <br /> opportunities; <br /> • Locating the facility at Site 5 will promote the goals, policies and <br /> objectives of Everett's Comprehensive Plan; <br /> • Site 5 is conveniently located and provides adequate pedestrian <br /> access to public services such as restaurants, hotels, and <br /> transportation; <br />
