-September 24, 1981
Pa ge 2
PARKING
3. Approximately 10 more autos can be parked in angled spaces` on Rockefeller
Avenue (between 13th and 14th Streets) which are not currently being used
at the 3:00 pm peak shift change time.
4. These alternatives will mean that only 49 of the 90 vehicles from the Colby
lot will be required to find other on --street parking.
S. The hospital lots will be monitored to eliminate construction parking.
6. A mechanism will be initiated (possibly involving the assignment of specific
parking places to some shifts) to ensure that evening shift employees will
have a parking place in the main lot. This will enable security personnel
to better monitor a more limited area and provide a more secure return to
autos at the end of shift.
7. We are appealing to day shift employees to avail themselves of the substantial
amount of noir-restricted parking within the 1-2 block range of the hospital.
To facilitate this, the hospital and neighborhood residents are cooperating to
determine which residents in the immediato vicinity mould not mind having
GHE employees park in front of their homes.
B. The hospital is posting additional literature on bus transit and is investigating
plans to provide bus ticket books or passes at reduced rates for employees or
volunteers. More details are forthcoming.
9. The hospital will continue to develop carpool ride -matching resources.
10. The hospital will continue to evaluate the parking situation and these specific
Programs until the January hearings.
While not all of these actions can be Implemented by September 26, 1981, we will
attempt to have an integrated plan in place as soon as possible. As details are refined,
You will .be notified. In the meantime, until the main lot is restriped, a number of us will
be required to park on the surrounding streets. Please share your ideas with us by call-
ing me (Ext. 304) or using the Suggestion boic:
We trust you will be considerate of your fellow employees and the neighbors.
Within a short time, we feel that the parking situation can be improved. Thank you for
Your understanding and cooperation.
Respectfully,
Alan Limpo
Associate Administrator
_ - - - _ _---^'_i '- '•}`ai._.r_-fir: ri'r.<,...-a,:•.: ,,. _- :,: :.- i
_ _ - -  _ - ;:€'!'"`.t`:',.-`.,2 f' '- -:%  her ''--_: 4ti'-" ;:1::- Ji:z h•
id?=''•=:-- - - .. - -- `-- --'- -•-- --.... _ .-...psi;:v:.-`3L"'eScSrC.:.`.54..,.c-«i'j...$•F``srYFl/+rc... -
