(HWA)prepared this proposal for geotechnical
engineering services for the Sewer System Replacement H projects in Everett, Washington. In
preparation of this proposal,we visited the work areas, discussed the project with you, and
reviewed sewer plan sheets you provided. We understand that the City requires upgrades to
several sections of sanitary sewers. For the Sewer Replacement H project, there arc 4 sections of
sewer replacement.
The northeast area is located near and within Henry M Jackson Park_ This section is
approximately 1,200 feet long and starts at 18th Street, runs north across the paved parking area
and the soccer field, then turns cast along the extension of 17th street, extending to the
intersection with East Marine View Drive. The plans provided indicate the existing line is
24-inch concrete pipe, and the sewer depth varies from about 9 to 12 feet below ground surface.
The southeast area extends three blocks along the alley between State Street and Highland
Avenue, from the intersection with 23k'Street to the intersection with 26th Street. We understand
that a sewer replacement project was recently completed in the next alleyway to the west,
between State Street and Chestnut Street, A geotechnical study was undertaken(by others)for
this project. We understand the City anticipates subsurface conditions at the current southeast
area to be similar to those encountered during construction of the previous project. The City
prefers to utilize the geotechnical report and boring logs from the previous project for this area.
Accordingly, explorations and evaluations for the southeast area are excluded from this scope of
work.
The southwest area runs along the alley between West Marine View Drive and Grand Avenue,
from the intersection with Everett Avenue to the intersection with 26th Street. Plans indicate this
section is about 480 feet long and varies up to about 13 feet deep. The pipe size and material
were not indicated on the plans. 19734-64th Avenue W.
Suite 200
Lynnwood,WA 9803(,.5957
1•i 475.774.0100
1;3x: 425.774.2714
www.hwagco cwi ccs cam
2 3
