5 .` <br /> INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br /> 1.1 General Description and Location of Project <br /> The work to be performed will include furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to <br /> construct approximately_2300 linear feet of road widening, including storm drainage improvements, <br /> signals, illumination, retaining walls, water main improvements, and other such appurtenances and <br /> performing all work as required by the contract in accordance with the Contract Plans, Specifications <br /> and Standard Specifications, all of which are made a part hereof. <br /> The project site is located at 112th Street SE, between Interstate 5 and 3`1 Ave. SE in south <br /> Everett. <br /> 1.2 Design Engineer <br /> Questions and inquiries about these Specifications and Contract Plans should be directed to the <br /> attention of Tom Hood, Project Engineer phone(425 )257-8809. <br /> 1.3 Standard Specifications <br /> All work under this contract shall be performed in accordance with the following specifications except <br /> as may be exempted or modified by other sections of these contract documents. These specifications <br /> are incorporated by reference, made a part of this contract and shall control and guide all activities <br /> within this project whether referred to directly,paragraph by paragraph. <br /> WSDOT/APWA "2004 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal <br /> Construction", as amended by the APWA Supplements, hereinafter referred to as the <br /> "Standard Specifications." <br /> The following other specifications and standard plans shall apply to the extent to which they are called <br /> out in these plans and specifications. <br /> 1. City of Everett"Design and Construction Standards and Specifications" <br /> (1993 Edition, Revised 1-04). <br /> 2. "Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction," as prepared by WSDOT. <br /> 3. "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MUTCD). <br /> 4. APWA Standards. <br /> 5. AWWA Standards. <br /> 1.4 Filling in Proposal Forms <br /> Bidders must submit proposals on the forms found in the proposal specifications. All blank spaces in <br /> the proposal form shall be properly filled in. In addition to writing in the bid amount in numbers, be <br /> sure and write out the bid in words in the space provided in the Proposal. Where conflict occurs, the <br /> written or typed words shall prevail.
