A multipurpose arena that provides <br />functional spaces for dinners, receptions, <br />conferences, meetings, and a general gathering <br />place for the different branches of the University <br />of Washington and Washington State University <br />systems is highly desirable. <br />High School Sports <br />The facility could host high school <br />basketball and hockey championships on an <br />annual basis. These events could contribute 5-7 <br />annual event use days to the indoor arena <br />schedule. It is anticipated that these events would <br />be scheduled at a new facility in Everett, if <br />developed. <br />Other Entertainment Providers <br />There are a wide variety of other <br />e ntertainment providers, which may represent <br />✓ iable short-term tenant opportunities for the <br />proposed arena. Representatives for These <br />shows expressed varying levels of interest in the <br />Everett area. Several promoters and event <br />o rganizers associated with ice shows expressed <br />minor concerns about the Everett location based <br />o n the proposed arenas proximity to the larger <br />regional facilities (i.e., Key Arena, Tacoma <br />Dome) in the area. However, the majority of the <br />promoters view Everett as an excellent market <br />for their particular event type.
