The excavation is benched� with the southern � <br /> portion approximately five (5) to six (6) feet higher in elevation. � <br /> Natural soils exist at the base of the excavation and consist of qrey- k <br /> brown silty gravelly sand. Considerable water was observed standing � <br /> in the lower excavation and evidence of considerable leaching ground- <br /> water was noted within the natural soils. Artificial fill consisting <br /> of black intermixed soil, rubbish and organics has been removed from <br /> the main building area. <br /> Recommendations: <br /> Structural foundations as planned are proposed for placement ap rox- I <br /> P <br /> imately two (2) feet above the southern bench.
