These comments address building issues only. Additional <br /> revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, <br /> Planning or Fire). All ceferences refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as <br /> amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 <br /> Edition, uNess stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br /> provide the Building Division with two sets of drawings reflecting the corrections <br /> requested. <br /> 1. The plans as drawn do not meet the prescriptive requirements for lateral bracing. <br /> Provide lateral analysis for wind and seismic loading prepared by a licensed <br /> Washington State Structural Engineer. <br /> 2. Update all code references to current codes; WA. St. Energy Code 1997 edition, <br /> WA. St. Ventilation & Indoor Air Qualiry Code 1997 edition, and Uniform <br /> Building Code 1997 edition <br /> 3. Energy Code Compliance cannot be chapter 6 prescriptive if the glazing exceeds <br /> the maximum amount allowed in Table 6-2 of the WA. St. Energy Code (WSEC) <br /> compliance can be either Chapter 4, "Building Design by System Analysis", or <br /> Chapter 5 "IIuilding Design by Component Performance Approach." The <br /> addition is required to stand-alone. You can get "credir" that can be used toward <br /> the addition by making upgrades to the existing house, a component performance <br /> worksheet is required (enclosed). <br /> 4.
