vouchers describing in detail the nature and propriety of the charges. The COUNTY also agrees
<br /> to maintain accurate records of all program income derived from implementing the Work.
<br /> 8. RECORDS RETENTION, AUDIT, AND INSPECTION
<br /> 8.1 Retention of Records. During the progress of an individual Task Order and for a
<br /> period not less than six (6) years from the date of final payment by the STATE, the records and
<br /> accounts pertaining to the Task Order and accounting therefore are to be kept available by the
<br /> Parties for inspection and audit by Washington State, the STATE, King County, the COUNTY,
<br /> the Federal Transit Administration, and/or the Federal Highway Administration and copies of all
<br /> records, accounts, documents, or other data pertaining to the Task Order will be furnished by
<br /> the COUNTY upon reasonable request. If any litigation, claim, or audit is commenced, the
<br /> records and accounts along with supporting documentation shall be retained by the COUNTY
<br /> until all litigation, claim, or audit finding has been resolved even though such litigation, claim, or
<br /> audit continues past the six (6)-year retention period.
<br /> 8.2 General Audit Requirements. The COUNTY agrees to obtain any other audits as the
<br /> STATE shall decide in its sole discretion are reasonably required. Project closeout will not alter
<br /> the COUNTY'S audit responsibilities.
<br /> 8.3 Inspection. The COUNTY agrees to permit the STATE, and the State Auditor, or their
<br /> authorized representatives, to inspect all Task Order Work materials, payrolls, maintenance
<br /> records, and other data, and to audit the books, records, and accounts of the COUNTY and its
<br /> subcontractors pertaining to the Work. The COUNTY agrees to require each third party to
<br /> permit the STATE, and the State Auditor, or their duly authorized representatives, to inspect all
<br /> work, materials, payrolls, maintenance records, and other data and records involving that third
<br /> party contract, and to audit the books, records, and accounts involving that third party contract
<br /> as it affects the Work.
<br /> 9. TASK ORDER FUNDING REQUIREMENTS
<br /> 9.1 In order to preserve the option of utilizing a variety of funding sources to reimburse the
<br /> Work covered by this Agreement, the Parties agree to comply with the applicable laws,
<br /> regulations, and requirements of each funding source. Each Task Order shall identify the
<br /> funding sources for the Work and shall include each fund's relevant provisions, as set forth in
<br /> Section 2,TASK ORDERS, above.
<br /> 10. EFFECTIVENESS AND DURATION
<br /> 10.1 This Agreement is effective upon execution by both Parties and will remain in effect until
<br /> December 31, 2018, unless otherwise amended or terminated.
<br /> 11. DOCUMENTATION
<br /> 11.1 The STATE may require the submission of periodic reports and documentation from the
<br /> COUNTY to verify that the COUNTY or its subcontractors are meeting funding and
<br /> accountability requirements, such as civil rights or disadvantaged business enterprises. Subject
<br /> to the terms and conditions described in this Agreement, the Parties shall agree to
<br /> documentation requirements for Work as specified in the scope of work for each Task Order.
