The Uniform Building Code provides that all permits expire by
limitation if the work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days
at any time after work is commenced. If you wish to prevent the permit from expiring without
documentation of completion, you may:
1) Request an inspection of work that has occurred, to document continuing progress,
or 2) Request final inspection if the work is completed,
or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension.
Please respond within 10 days.
