AVA>IIINGTON
The structure at 3521 Oakes has been posted as "Unlacaful to Occupy
u
since Auqust 23, 1974.
On November 29, 1973, we issued formal condemnation papers, which
called for the demolition of the residence and the xesidence
adjacent to it, 3519 Oakes.
The owner, Mr. Joe Camp, obtained permits on February 6, 1974, to
demolish both houses and compleced the demolition of 3519 Oakes,
sometime during the summer of 1974.
During a recent contact with Mr. Camp, he stated that he had sold
the property to Mr. Ken Penix, a city employee.
Mr. Penix was contacted by telephone and he verified the sale. He
also stated that he wanted to use the structure as a residence
instead of demolishing it.
I discussed the matter with Frank Bennett and he is willing to
forestay the demolition order with the stipulation that the
structure meet our requirements. I have passed this information on
to Mr. Penix and also informed him that the structure tuould
probably have to meet the present building code as the assessed
valuation is very low, $740.00.
Mr. Penix will be contacting you soon to obtain the necessary
permits. I recommend that you require complete code compliance
in this case.
