There are
two additional comments in this memo following the earlier
comments to the BOA and made in response to Marc Shend3
request:
1. The "South of Pacz .`;.-" neighborhood has had
history of parkin,. . ii±'ms as various sin-
gle family buildi+'c<. 'r;.:e been converted to
offices, multiple 3weiing residences, etc.
The result has been a substantial deficit
in total area parking spaces compounded by
the CBD growth across Pacific. Parking has
been restricted to permits for residences
only following public hearings, community
involvement, etc.
There is no possible exception for parking
requirements in this neighborhood. Any
variance approved by the City would be ron-
tradictory to policy and action developed by
the Mayor and Council with the neighborhood
through the past three years. There should
be NO parking variances approved in this
neighborhood.
2. The drawing showing 45 degree with four
angle Etalls and a fifth stall off th.e aisle
is not in conflict with design guidelines
published in the Traffic Engineering Hand-
book and P,ark'na P ns3p3€s.• it is exactly
equal to the aisle width minimum of 20 feet ,
and stall width minimum of 17.5 feet.
Minimum width 90 degree parking is some-
times squeezed to 90 feet from the 42-43'
minimum. The 90 degree proposal should not
be approved .
