EVERETW..SNINVitiry EVE'_,i a
Planning Det
\VATER:
The utility draving shows the tvo inch (2") vater service to be connected to the G"
cast iron water main located on the east side of Pine Street. Wat:er pressure in
the area is approximately 98 psi.
The sanitary sewer and storm drainage construction on Pacific Avenue will necessi-
tate crossing the 48" tivater transmission line., The Water Department shall be
notified 24 hours prior to excavation. If the 48" line is esposed in anyway during
excavation the Water Department shall be notified and an inspection of the main
shall be made prior to backfill. Any damage to the 48" pipe or to its coating shall
be the responsibility of the own'er or his contractor.
. The construction of the restaurant will not have a signficant impact on the water
system. The Vatcr Department sho;Ad have no objections to the proposal.
SEWER:
The proposed plan for sanitary sewer service to the new building :s acceptable to
me. All side sewers from the area of the nev parking lot must be c ped at the
property line.
DRAINAGE: '
'!'he drainage should be connected to the 48" sewer overflow line instead of the .
Snterceptor. I would like to see it connected by constructing a manhole over the
48 inch line. This would then permit the radio station building to connect their
• drainage to the catch basin in the alley. Perhaps the radio station builders couid
contribute to the, cost of the manhole since it will, save them money for their storm
drainage connection.
The alley adjacent to and east of the parking lot should be "Veed" in the center for
- drainage.
Although it doesn't affect the Sewer Department, it seems to me that draining the
parking lot all ilie vay to Pacific will result in patrons having to walk through storm
water when going to and from their cars.
The proposed catcli basin in the allcy should be a type II per APVA standard speci-
fications and the manhole over the 48" overFlov should be a type III-72 pe APVA standa:
specifications. s'
. r
 pl rr
p')q'.j C-rrr'''n
. i
