Building Description
The 3326 Paine Avenue building in Everett Washington is located near both 1 5 and Everett Station in
downtown EveretL Reports are that the building was constructed in the 1960s,bu[neithr the
building owner nor the Ciry of Everett has the original construction documents on record to review. The
building is rectangular in shape, with a length of approzimately 160 feet and a widlh of approximately
100 feet A small rectangular addition was added oulside lhe southeast comer of the building after its
original conslruclion. The building is connected to the adjacent 3409 McLougai Avenue building by an
unused rollup doorway that is typically closed.
The gravity load carrying system of the building consis[s of corrugated metal deck that dislributes the
roof load to sleel Z-purlins. These Z-purlins are supported in turn by a steel 3-pin arch that spans
across lhe width of the building. The 3 pin arch is construcled of steel plates welded logelher to fonn
an I-shape of a varying cross section al different locations o(the arch. The foundations were
wwbserved, but are likely conventional concrete spread footings.
The lateral load carrying system consists of tension-only steel rod bracing in the north-south direclion
at the perimeter of the building. The three pin arches resist lateral loads in the east-west dimction.
Wind girts are steel Z shapes lha[span horizontally between the coiumns of Ihe 3-pin arch in lhe long
direction of the buildirg, and between added vertical=teel I-columns in the short direction of Uie
bwlding. The roof diaphragm is stiffened with tension-coty rod bracing.
Glacier Propertles,LLC
3326 Paine Aveiwe
J/v
