Children who have acceptable iron and <br /> calcium intake, and Io+N fat intake, are less likely to absorb lead from their environment. <br /> • Maintain the painted surfaces in your home (if it was built prior to 1g80) to avoid <br /> exposure to lead paint chips and dust. <br /> • If your job invoives the use of lead or lead compounds, or if you work in a lead industry, <br /> shower and change clothes be r returning home. <br /> 5 . Con^tructfon acriv•r <br /> • Employees ot companies which are required to work in soil within the study area should <br /> refer to WAC 296-62 (the Generai Occupational Health Standard), or consult the <br /> Department of Labor and Industries for assistance on how to reduce work related <br /> exposure to contaminated soi�. <br /> • Soil removal from any site in the study area must be carried out in consultation with the <br /> Snohomish Health District.
