3. fire Lane Markine - Fire apparaws access roads shall be marked whenever necessary to <br /> maintain the unobstructed minimum required width of roadways. Firc lanes shall be <br /> marked as follows: <br /> a. Curbs shall be identi£ed by red traffic paint with a 6-inch wide stripe on qie top <br /> and Gont, extending the I�ngth of the designated fire lane. <br /> b. Rolled curbs shall be identified by red traffic paint with a 6-inch wide stripe on <br /> Uie curb, extending the length of the designated fire lane. <br /> c. Lanes without curbs shall be identified by red traffic paint with a 6-inch wicie <br /> stripe on the pavement, extending the length of the designatcd fire lane. <br /> d. 'I'he �vords 'NO PARK[NG - FIRG LANE' shall be in 3-inch stroke white Ietters <br /> l8 inches in height, and placed 8 inches measured perpendicular from the red <br /> paint stripe on the pavement. [n most cases, both sides of the access road shall be <br /> marked. Where long drives are to be marked, the repetitions shall al(emate sides <br /> of the drive. <br /> e. Marking shall also include the addition of inetal signs stating 'NO PARKING - <br /> FIRE LANG- TOW AWAY ZONE' to be installed at intervals or locations <br /> designated by Uie fire code ufficiaL The signs shall be approximately l2 inches in <br /> width and 18 inches in lieight and have red letters on a white background. Metal <br /> signs shall be installcJ on either 2-inch metal pipes for private property or treated <br /> d-inch by 4-inch wood posts for public property and shall be located so lhat the <br /> bottom of the sign is a minimum nf 7 feet above the curb. Where firc lanes are <br /> adjacent to buildings or structF'� � ��t ,,'�en approved or directed by the fire code <br /> uf7icial, the signs may be plaa�� ��,, f:; :ace of the building or structure. <br /> f. "Chese diagonal lines shall be in red tral7ic paint, parallel with each other, at <br /> least 6 inchcs in �vidth and 24 inches apart. Lettering shall appear as above. <br /> 4. Security �ence - Any security fence erected around the construction site shall be located <br /> so as to not obstruct any exisling hydrant, fire protection equipment, or Fire Depanment <br /> access. [f�ire Department access is obstructed, gates or other openings shall be provided <br /> for access. <br /> i. Premise Identification - Premises shall be clearly identified by Uie correct address at the <br /> street entry. Quildings shall ba dcarly idcntified so as to be visible and legible from the <br /> access road. [ndividual apartments and suites, where applicable, shall be clearly and <br /> legibly identificd from the access road. <br /> 6. Fire Fivdrants - Locations as planned are acceptable. <br /> 7.
