The field expleration proaam was based
upon the proposed conativclion and required deign cnteria, the aite tcpography and access, the
subsuAaoe conditions revealed during excavatio, and the scope of work outlined in our proposal.
The test pits were excavated on July 1, 1999 with a rubber-+.ired backhoe. A geotechnicai enginaer
from our staff observed the excavation process, logged the test pits, an- oblained reeresentative
samples oF the soil encountered. "Grab" samples af selected subsurface soii were col!ected from
the backhce bucket.
The specifie test pit logs are shown oelow. The test pit logs indicate that competent, native glacial
till or compacted fii was found at shaliow depths.
TEST PIT LOCS
TEST PIT 1
,b•. h. feit , __ ;^ .:Sollnisei don.:;" : .,.;;- :,•
0-0.5 .
