TO Housing Conservation Supervisor Fe]vLe;rett
FROM
Douglas IIudden,
(lousing Inspector
DATE
April 2, 1974
SUBJECT CITY OF EVERETT. EVERETT. WASHINGTON
Lights on Evergreen Way at 75th
March 26, 1974
I talked with the secretary at Haight -Anderson Mazda and explained
that several of the Businesses in the Beverly Lake -Evergreen Way
strip may have yard lighting that is disturbing to residents that
Live to the West of Evergreen Way. She said Mr. Haight and
Mr. Anderson were out of the office but she would relay my
message.
March 27, 1974
Mr. Haight called: he was somewhat irritated with what he feels
is harassment, apparently he has had other problems with the
development of his business.
He stated he would like someone with authority in the City
Administration to come out and explain to him just exactly
what is expected from Chem, (re: several City policies)
and they would be glad to comply.
March 27, 1974
Talked with the manager of Suzuki Motorcycle store. I asked
him if lie would clean up the debris and litter. He said that
lie would do his best to keep the area clean. He also expressed
irritation because of harassing phone calls about motorcycle
noise, etc. The calls, he stated, are completely unwarranted.
March 27, 1974
I stopped at "Skippers Sea Foods". It appeared to me that the
position of their yard lights could not be offending.
The Earl Meyer autc. sales lot has ceased olvretion at his
location on Evergr.:en Way. It appears that his lighting was
probably the most offensive.
I could not determine if Pignataro Chevrolet's lights were aimed
so that the complaining party could find them offensive.
Mr. Nicholas called on March 28, 1974. I informed him that we
were investigating his complaint and that we were contacting the
businesses in question on Evergreen Way. I also advised him thal
the ordinance reguarding lighting that he quoted in his letter
was an excerpt from the Billboard ordinance and its relationship
to his complaint had not been fully determined, and I knew of
no ordinance that prevented the use of broken concrete as fill
material.
I told him we would continue to work for a solution to the
problem.
Mr. Nicholas' property is well over 1000 feet from Evergreen
Way.
