City of Everett
Community Development Department
April 25, 1974
Page 3
III. Refuse
Since our request to you no corrective action has
been taken; the problem has been aggravated. Alfy's has now
joined Suzuki in dumping debris (principally broken concrete,
asphalt, and a rubber tire) over the bank in full view of
our property.
I disagree strongly with Mr. Budden that materials
such as broken concrete are permitted to be dumped. Atten-
tion is invited to Section 11.04.10 Rubbish on Premises.
In our judgment the Code prohibits the practices in
question particularly where the rubbish, etc., is attractive
to children. (Children from a nearby apartment house play
regularly on the bank.)
The Code has sanctions --a fine and/or imprisonment
for violations. 'ihe violations have been called to your
attention and not enf-reed.
We again request that the business property owners (Aify's
and Suzuki) be required to conform to the Code by (1) remov-
ing the waste material from the bank and (2) install protective
screening. Correction of the remaining lighting problem will.
also be appreciated.
Sincerely,
J
A. ,NKHOLAS
N-81
cc: Mr. Carl Gipson, City Council
