June 19, 2013
The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30
p.m., June 19, 2013 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,
President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor
Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, and
Stonecipher were present. Council Members Bader and Affholter were
excused.
Council President Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the June 12, 2013 Everett City Council meeting were
approved as printed.
MAYOR
The Mayor had no comments.
COUNCIL
Council Member Roberts expressed his appreciation for the Mayor's letter
to Mr. Rogowski, Department of Ecology. He stated that it establishes
that the cleanup level for the Kimberly-Clark site will permit all of the uses
that the city council approved and makes it clear that it will be done in a
way that limits any kind of exposure, liability or risk to future users as well
as to the citizens.
Mayor Stephanson added that the letter also included a requirement, as
part of the demolition permit, that the property be covered with topsoil and
hydro-seeded.
Council Member Roberts remarked that he has raised the issues
associated with nuisance abatement with the Association of Washington
Cities.
166
