Mukilteo Blvd, Everett
Dear Shane:
We have received the application submitted to Snohomish County PUD (District)
concerning the proposed installation of a Wireless Communication Facility (WCF)
antenna system on an existing distribution/transmission line structure at 1927 W.
Mukilteo Blvd, Lynnwood, Washinston. It is understood that the primary usage of the
structure shall remain as part of the DistricYs electric system and the installation of the
WCF equipment is a secondary function which may require modification to or
replacement of the existing structure.
The District will be responsible for developing the design loads for the structure and
performing the design of the structure which includes all equipment mounted on the
structure including the WCF equipment per the Washington Administrative Code 296-
46, the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and electric utility standards and
practices. The analysis will use WCF antenna loads and design provided by ATBT.
Utility structures have long been exempt from the Uniform Bu;iding Code (UBC) under
section 101.3 of the 1997 code and the chane to the Intemational Building Code (IBC)
has not eliminated that exemption. Public utlity structures are specifically exempt from
the provision of the iBC and as such desigii calculations are not required to be provided
to the permitting agercy. District construction personnel or other designated qualified
electrical workers will he responsible for any work on the structure in and above tlie
electric supply spaa: which involves work such as electric lines, equipment
modifications, installation of a new pole and/or installation or maintenance of antennas
and cable. The new or modified structure shall continue to be under the ownership of
the District.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (425) 783-5606.
Sincerely,
Nancy Middleton
Wireless and Project Scheduling
2320 California Streel • Everett, WA • 98201 / Mailing Address: P.O.
