REPORT FROM THREE STREAM SPECIALISTS: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4, <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />February Sth - Ted Moeller, a Nabitat Specialiat from thr State C.ame <br />Department viewed our property and made the following <br />recommendations: <br />Begin a Progzessive Forestry Ycogram: cutting old trees, especially <br />those ahoving decadence, leave young trees and plant nev trees - both <br />evergreen and deciduous. <br />Steep Slopes - plant evergreens and alders - remove old decadent trees, <br />plant grass and ivy to secure soil especially clay bank, eae[ side mid- <br />property. <br />Lesa eteep slopea - grass and evetgreens. <br />Revine floor - 10 feet each side of stream - plant willovs, dogvoods, <br />salmon berries and leave good eelection of young trees. <br />To preserve viability of atream leave all groWth except decadent trees <br />fifteen feet from bank. <br />Native grass seed could be broadcast over entire area. <br />Streams need 75Y. shade. <br />February 7th: Ed Adrian, a Hor[iculturist from the City Parks and <br />Recreation Department checked [he trees along the ruad, <br />vieved our logging operation, marked the decadent trees, <br />and made these observations. <br />Some, but nor. all, of the trees on Olympic are ahoving signa of decadence <br />and ahould be removed. <br />Planting native gra�s, evetgzeens, and bushes on the area east of the <br />atream vhlrh has been logged vill provlde sufficient aecuring of the <br />sail in that area. <br />He concurred vith the reco�endation of the State Game Department. <br />� <br />M <br />� <br />
