The purpose of our work was W: 1) evaluate <br /> � subsurface soil and groundwater condi6ons at the site; 2) evaluace the shability of the slope <br /> I along the east property line and provide recommendadons for maintaining or imprwing its <br /> stability; and 3) prwide geotechnical recommendations for the development of the site and <br /> for the design and construc6on of the proposed facili6es. <br /> IOur work included ihe following: 1) reviewing the United States Geologic Survey map of <br /> I� the area W determine local geologic condidons, 2) nwiewing portions of Evemtt Municipal <br /> Code (EMC) 19.37, MDNS No. 37-89 (and the City Council's appeal decision) and a June <br /> � 18, 1993, letter from the City of Everett to Seafirst Bank regarding development at lhe site; <br /> 3) drilling 5 borings and ezcavating 21 test pits w determine subsurface conditions in the <br /> I proposed development area; 4) performing laboratory cests tn determine indea and <br /> engineering properties of the site soils; S) completing a geologic reconnaissance of the slope <br /> to identify soil exposures, seepage wnes, and any signiScant erosional or slumping amas; 6) <br /> compledng engineering analyses co develop design and construction recommendations; and <br /> 'n preparing this report. <br /> IThe work was done in general accoidance with the scope of work oudined in our proposal <br /> dated January 24, 1994, and in accordaece with the terms and condidons ouUined in the <br /> Agreement For Professional Senrices (GH-93) provided to Sierta Construction Company, <br /> Inc.
