PUBL/ N/O«K5
3
May 26, 1993
Brian White
Snohomish County PUD No. 1
2320 California Avenue
Everett, Washington 98201
SUBJECT: PUD SWITCHING STATION AT WEYERHAEUSEC. SITE-STREET
?MPROVEMENTS
Dear Mr. White:
The original condidon for street improvements noted in the Planning Direc:ror Decision stated
that the existing asphalt pavement behind the curb on the property's Marine View Drive
frontage must be removed and reinstalled with concrete to meet City standazds.
Further revie•v of this project by public works staff has revealed that the switching station
property adjoins a proposed sueet improvement project for the Marine View Drive corridor.
The corridor project plans have the sidewalk and curb realigned [o the north of the existing
sidewalk and curb.
City Ordinance No. 555-78 gives the City the authority to require street improvements in
conjunction with your project. Rather than have the PUD construct their portion of the
comdor improvements we feel it•Nould be more expedient for the PUD to pay a prorated
share of the entire corridor projec.t. The PUD's cost would be based on doing the portion of
the improvements along their frontage (including, curb, gutter, sidewalk, street widenng, bike
lane and retaining wall). The 169,000 amount, which is based on our estimate of the
construcdon cost, has been reveiwed by PUD engineering staff.
This amount would fulfill the PUD's obligation for meeting the City's street improvement
ordinance.
If you have any questions regarding Uiis matter please contact our office at 259-8800.
Sincerely,

I.a Crawfo
Assistant Pu lic Works Directur
KO:cglpud/i
CITY OF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street• Everett, WA 98201 • (206) 259-8800 • Fax (206) 259•8856
