Petition Against <br /> Amendments to Community <br /> Renewal Plan <br /> For <br /> ASARCO Smelter Redevelopment Area <br /> This Petition is opposing the increase in densiry and building height for the above <br /> mentioned project located at Pilchuck Path/E. Marine View Dr(ASARCO)Smelter <br /> Site. <br /> This Amendment to the"Community Renewal Plan for the Everett Smelter site requests <br /> that the building heights for 31 of the 90 Units or over 30 percent of the site to be <br /> increased. T'he new heights would be over the rnaximu►n building height altowed within <br /> this zone of 28 feet. The new heights proposed would be as high as 38'.6"or a 138 <br /> • peroent incrcase over that allowcd. Such increases would dramatically alter the <br /> ncigliborhood scale in which the project was previously approved. <br /> The Amcnciment also requeslti additional units beyonJ that allowed for this zone. The <br /> proposa( increases its density from R6 units,as allowed,to 90 units. Again a 5 percent <br /> incn:asc bcyond what is allowed. <br /> Incrcases in hcight and the numbcr of units beyond the zoning requirements is in direct <br /> violation otthc intcnt anJ rcasons for administraGng a Zoning Ordinancc for the City of <br /> Everett.
