In attendance at the meeting were myself, Coun-
cilmar. Moore, Councilman Juckett, and Counci.iman Lanyus representing
the City; Commissioner Jim Shaffer representing the Port; and Commission-
ers Hill, Haines, and Moa representing Snohomis County. In addition,
various staff people from each of the jurisdictions were in attendance.
As we all knov, outstanding cooperation between our three agencies and
IAC, together with favorable bids on early phases of construction, has
allowed the boat launch facility to partially open for operation. The
initial response has been good. However, in line with the origilal
construction schedule, there are many things left to be completed before
the full facility, as conceived in the original plans, is finished. In
a very short time contracts will be awarded for Phase IIB which includes
hard surfacing of the access roads and a portion of the north parking
area. It was for this phase that City Council Uudgeted approximately
$6,000 in the 1977 Uudget as our share of this caork.
Fundinq for Phase III is being songht from IAC, and it is the Port's
intention to submit a preliminary request for this money on April 1.
Phase III would allow for completion of the north parking area, the
provision of four additional boat launching ramps, prelimnary con-
struction on the park area, and various other minor improvements.
The total cost for Phase III is estimate to be $510,000 with each of
the threa o,ners providing $42,500 as their share of the loca.L match.
ie will not know until SeptemUer what poition of this total request
will be approved by IAC, Uut we vould kne :n time for the local
funding to Ue considered in our 1978 budget.
- v..r-.. r- _ ' -r
. ..^` ^..
