gh Kuyper - RE: Port of Everett 14th St. Bulkhead _ pa9e
From: "Paul McKee" <PMckee@ci.everett.wa.us
To: "Hugh Kuyper" <hkuyper@reidmidd.com>
Date: 2/16105 1:39PM
Subject: RE: Port of Everett 14th St. Bulkhead
Hugh,
First of ali - good plans.
The following are our comments on the BulkF.ead replacement project:
1. Please inciude our Required Notes on Plans from the City of Everett Standards Manual for both Sewer
and Water on the plan set.
2. Please show and note the 15' easements required for the public water mains. We can deal with the
actual easement docs later.
3. C4.1 - The pipe between CB1 & C62 needs slope caliout.
4. C4.2 - The pipe between C69 8 Existing either needs a CB at the change of alignment where it
connects to the existing pipe or to be relayed from CB9 all the way to the connection into the existing CB.
5. C4.4 - Section 'B' called out on sheet 4.3 is missing.
6. C4.4 - In section 'A' the gap between the wheel stop curb and the top of the sidewalk deck
appears to be a potential maintenance problem (garbage, dirt) and potentially a puddling problem (even
with the gaps in the curb) & trip hazard. If feasibie, I would recommend filling the gap to be flush with the
sidewalk deck or allowing the vehicles to overhang the sidewalk (extend sidewalk if necessary).
7. C5.1-05.3 - Please show hatching in parking stalls that are encumbered by light poles.
I have not seen the revision to the location for the connection from the City system to the Port's. Will there
be enough Flow (usage) to keep the proposed 6" fresh'?
We at the City appreciate your willingness to meet, inform, explain and work with us on this project.
Thanks,
Paul McKee
City of Everett
425-257-8867
—Original Message---
From: Hugh Kuyper mailto:hkuyper@reidmidd.com]
Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2005 8:52 AM
To: Paul McKee
Subject: RE: Port of Everett 14th St. Bulkhead
Thanks.
We coordinated w/ Rick Robinson at the fire department concerning locating the fire hydrant at the east
end of the bulkhead reconstruction. He wants us to stay 10' east of the existing fire hydrant.
We are working on configuring that now. Also reducing the size of the meter. The new 6" private water
pipe serving the combined access piers 8 the docks is sized for a future marina. We don't need a 6"
meter now.
We sized a meter for a similar size mariria at Thea Foss water way in Tacoma. It is only 2" diameter. We
are comparing number of slips now and checking capacity.
HK
»> "Paul McKee" PMckee@ci.everett.wa.us> 02/16I05 08:14AM »>
Hugh,
4
