The marina wuter service feeds 350 hose bibs. AWWA methal (fixture count) shows a peak
flow rate of 158 gpm. AWWA recommended design capacity for a 2 inch displacement tneer
(SO% of capacity) is 130 gpm (maximum capacity of the meter is l60 gpm).
One - 2 inch meter is marginally ovcr recommended capacity.
Two — 2 inch meters are more thau adequate.
One 4 inch meter is Vemendously over capacity (500 gpm) and is not warranted.
We suggest that one two inch meter is adequate because:
1) This is a"interini' meter scrvicc. The permanent meter scrvice and RPBA will bc
moved to a new location at a proposed marina service building in alwut 2 years (with the
new parking lot construction noted above).
2) Pressure head loss from the increased tlow rate is not a concern at this location. Static
pressures is I IS psi per GIS map.
3) If the design peak Flow rute is exceeded, the consequence is lower delivery rate at the
hose bibs for that limited perial of time.
4) Peak Ilow rate will probably only occur during warm days wlien people wash boats.
5) This solution and its limitations is acceptable to the owner (Per tel con with Dean
Shaughnessy 2/22/OS)
Two sets of revised drawings are attached. A third set with the revisions noted by yellow high lighting is
also included for your convenience.
Please inform us as to your decision on items 5 and 6 where we request modification of the revisions you
liste.
Thank you for the quick review of the design and your patience as this design evolved.
  oz 3
H1UOC\?J\4P02\(NN) Pon of 8veren-Nonh Marina Bulkhead!F7NAL DESIGMCortcspondcnceMcmo_Paul McKtt 022205.dx ` f
