� <br />6. Excavation/Fill: <br />a. Approximately 115,000 cubic yards will be excavated to create a dead-load <br />barge b3sin adjacent to the existing concrete pier on the site, in the <br />southwest corner of the site. <br />b. The excavated material wiil be used on the northeast portion of the site to <br />condition and prepare the site for module fabrication as preliminary <br />investigation by the applicant and information on hand indicates an unstable <br />earth condition may exist. Additional soil sampling and analysis will be dore. <br />7. DrainaQe: <br />Surface water runoff should not increase as surface preparation will be crushed <br />rock and gravel. An extended storm drain system for the site will be tied into the <br />existing storm drain and must be designed in accordance with the City's drainage <br />ordinanr to take care of increased drainage. <br />3. Traffic <br />Up to 1,500 workers could be employed at peak of operation. Average work force <br />will be 575 persons generating approximately 445 vehicles per day. Carpooling will <br />be encouraged. Five acres are designated for personnel automobiles. <br />Truck traffir_ is estimated at an average of three large and four to six small trucks <br />per day. Norton Avenue is a four-lane roadway with adequate capacity to handle <br />the expected traffic. Need for any improvements has not been identified at ttiis <br />point in time. (7/21/81) <br />9. Public Access <br />Public access has been provided through the marina development north of this site <br />Given the nature of the proposed activity, public access within this project is noi <br />feasible and not required due to the water-related nature of the activity. <br />10. Pedestrian circulation <br />Previously approved projects at this site (see Exhibit 5) were conditioned to provi�;; <br />a landscaped pedestrian/bike path along the east edge of the site between 16th anc� <br />21st on Norton Avenue. This path would link with the pedestrian system being <br />developed in the marina. <br />
