Access- The Uniform Fire Code requires that all new structures must provide Fire <br />Department ar,cess roads to within I50 feet of all portions of the ground tloer. Fire <br />Department access roads fFire Lanes) will provide a minimum of 20 feet in width of <br />unobstructed, all season driving surface with a minimum clear height of 13.5 feet. A tire hydrant is required within 200 driving feet, but not closer than 50 feet, of every <br />structure. Fire safety practices during construction must be in corr,pliance with the Uniform Fire <br />Code, 1985 Edition, Article 87, "Fire Safety During Construction." <br />17. Fire Alarm System: M approve automatic fire detection system must be provided as <br />required by Chapter 16.76 of the Everett Municipal Code. <br />Plans for such system must be submitted to the Fire Marshal for review and approval prior <br />to installation. Submittal shall include cut sheet of all equipment intended for use. <br />Appropriate trip tests, witnessed by a Fire Department inspector must be perf'ormed prior <br />to final acceptance of the system. <br />Fire alarm systems must be installed under pertnit of the City of Everett Building <br />Departmer.t. A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum UL rating of 2A must be provided within 75 <br />feet travel distance on each floor of all portions of each building during construction and <br />priorto occupancy. <br />19.
