RESOLU'rION POSTPONGD Marian htain, of the Building Department, reported the resolution in front of the Cuuncil today was in connection with the building at 2827 W. Marine View Drive, which was initially brought before the Council on June of 1980. Over a period.of 2 years the problem has not been solved and on September 20th of 1982, a building permit was issued to Robert Haggard for repair work on this building, No work has been done since that time and, according to the code, the building permit is now invalid. She asked the Council to adopt the resolution authorizing demolition of the structure. Larry Crawford, of the Public Works Department, pointed out to the Council that the building as proposed by Mr. Haggard would cause problems with the sewer line in the area and they had put a stop work order on the site pending Mr. Haggard receiving a public works permit. This involved some survey work and redoing the sewer line, etc. The notice to stop work was in September of 1982 and, on June 3rd, Mr. Haggard finally complied with all of the necessary work and a public works permit had been issued. In answering a question regarding the building permit and the public works permit, he said that when a building permit is issued the customer is told that they also have to get a public works permit, but at the time the building permit was issued to t4r. Haggard, the Public Works Department had not made the review of the problem. Councilman Aldcr.oft pointed out that ihe law states that a permitee may apply for an extension and the Building Official may extend the time for a period not exceeding 180 days, and Mr. Crawford replied that he would suggest that an extension be given on the building permit. Moved by Councilman Overstreet, seconded by Councilman Stephanson, that this matter be refei•red to the Administration and staff and when they have resolved the problem it will be bro�ght back to the Council.
