We noted up to six (6) <br /> ' inches of standing water within the creek/drainage ditch. The <br /> vegetation noted adjacent to the creek/drainage ditch consistad of <br /> ' grasses, horse tails, bushes and small trees. <br /> ' A metal, chain-Link fence •das noted enclosing the site. Open grass <br /> areas werc noted to the rorth and south of the western lot. <br /> ' BOBBURFACE CONDITIONB <br /> ' The subsurface conditions were investigated by excavating thrce (3) <br /> backhoe test pits on May 29, 1991. The test pit locations, <br /> ' determined by our 9eologist and located by pacing relative to the <br /> I�roperty lines, are shown on the site plan presented in Appendix A. <br /> ' Detailed test pit logs and soil descriptions are presented in <br /> Appendix B. The soils were described in the field and were <br /> I classified using the Unified 8oils Classification System which is <br /> presented in Appendix C. <br /> ' The depths referred to in this report are relative to the existing <br /> ground surface at the tii^.e of our investigation. The test pits <br /> ' were terminated at depths of between four (4) and five (5) feet <br /> below the surface due to the density of the native soi.l. All of <br /> Ithe test pits were excavated within the western lot oniy. <br /> � We observed seven (7) to eighteen (18) inches of topsoil, <br /> consisting of black, silty sand with minor qravel and roots, in all <br /> of the tes� pits. Below the topsoil layer in Test Pit 1, we noted <br /> � three (7) feet of loose to dense, brown to gray, silty sand with <br /> some gravel (till) . At one and one-half (1 1/2) feet below the <br /> ' surface in 'Cest Pit 2, we found loose to dEnse, gray-brown, silty <br /> ' <br />
