3 <br /> CHARTER CHANGE YES ❑ <br /> CHARTER CHANGE NO ❑ <br /> Section 6: Change to Section 4.7 Section 4.7 of the Everett City Charter which <br /> reads as follows: <br /> City Engineer—Qualifications. <br /> No person shall be eligible to the position of city engineer who has not been a civil <br /> engineer of practical experience for the period of five (5) years next preceding his <br /> appointment. <br /> is recommended to be changed to: <br /> City Engineer—Qualifications. <br /> No person shall be eligible to the position of city engineer who has not been a civil engineer of <br /> practical experience for the period of five(5)years next preceding his appointment. <br /> The City Engineer shall be a registered professional civil engineer with a minimum of five years <br /> experience after registration. If the appointee's licensure as a registered professional engineer <br /> is from a different state, the appointee shall be required to obtain a Washington State license as <br /> a registered professional civil engineer within 6 months of appointment. <br /> PROPOSITION #4 <br /> Shall Everett City Charter Section 4.7 be changed to comply with applicable State of <br /> Washington law? <br /> CHARTER CHANGE YES ❑ <br /> CHARTER CHANGE NO ❑ <br /> Section 7: Change to Section 4.8 Section 4.8 of the Everett City Charter <br /> which reads as follows: <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation—Director. <br /> There shall be a department of parks and recreation, the head of which shall be the <br /> director of parks and recreation, who shall have responsibility for the management and <br /> control of the park and recreation system of the city. Such director shall appoint under <br /> civil service laws and rules, supervise and control all employees in the department of <br /> parks and recreation, and he shall have such further powers and perform such other <br /> duties as may be prescribed by ordinance. The director of parks and recreation shall be <br /> 1 2 appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by a majority of the city council, for a <br /> term of four (4) years, and he may be removed by the mayor subject to like confirmation. <br /> 5 <br />
