Callahan said he had heard nothing . (Memo on file) On October 22, 1987, I submitted a memo to the CHIP office advising them of the situation regarding these buildings and i asked if they wanted to talk with the owner about possible � use of the CHIP program to rehab the buildings . On Uctober ' 23rd, Dave K. noted on the memo that the CHIP oifice had contacted Tom McKee and he was not interested in fixing his properties up through C}{Ip , March 22, 1988, Building Ufficial Notices and Urders were siqned by the new Building Official (there was a time lapse j between Oct. 87 and March 88 due to Callahan retiring and the i Building Official position beinq filled) . The Orders were � delivered via certified mail, return receipt requested. April 22, 1988, Ton McKee responded in writing to the Orders . There was a question on the part of staff as to the validity I of this letter being an appeal from the Orders. This letter was received by the Planning Uept. on April 28th. The 30 day ; appeal time granted by the Notice and Order was 30 days from the date, March 22, 88, on the Orders . Jim Iles was contacted and he said to give Mr . McKee an appeal date for certain on filing an appeal (even through the time and date were in the Orders) . We have tried time and again to work with Mr. McKee so, we sent him a letter signed by Tim Tyler, Buildinq Official and dated May 11 , 1988, granting Mr. McKee additional time to file an appeal . The last date for the filing of the appeal was set as May 20, 1988 . (copy of the letter i.s on file) . According to notes on file, Larry Crawford had granted a further extension of the 5-'10-88 appeal date.
