HIGHLIGHTS AND CHANGES <br />Building - <br />* The fire resistive protection of columns and beams within <br />assemblies requires individual protection unless tested as part <br />of the assembly. <br />* Suspended ceiling seismic bracing requirement is enforced. <br />* Fire resistive assembly details are required on plans (including <br />Test Number). <br />* Stair sections are required showing rise, ru�c and headroom. <br />(Stair run is not synonymous with tread and headroom is now a <br />minimum of 6 feet 8 inches.) <br />* Sections and details are to be related tu the specific <br />conditions - "Typicals" are not acceptable. <br />Mech/Plmb - <br />* Floor drain primers are required. <br />* Gas piping is not to be concealed unless access panels are <br />provided. <br />* Roof access (permanent) is required for mechanical equipment. <br />* Dryer vent maximum length is 14 feet with two 90° elbows. <br />* Sheet metal screws are required at the joints of prefabricated <br />metal chimneys. <br />* Barrier free water closet height is 17 to 19 inches. <br />* Laundry rooms (including closets) require a fan. <br />Electrical - <br />* Wiring in nondwellings is required to be in metallic raceway. <br />State Electrical Plan Review is required for educational, <br />institutional and health or personal care occupancies prior to permit <br />issuance. <br />10/4/90 <br />(42) <br />2 - <br />
