<br />�985. Nothing in this chapter prevents such a person
<br />from designing buildings for (our years after July 2g,
<br />�985. or the Pve-ycar period allowcd for compic�ion of
<br />lhe cxamination process, after that person has applicd
<br />for rcgistration. A p��a� Who has been dc�igning build-
<br />ings and ix qualified under this su6section shall, upon
<br />�PP���uon to �he board o( registration for architecu, be
<br />alluwcd to take thc examination for architect registra-

<br />RC11' 18•�8360 Exrmioations, (I) The examinatian
<br />for an architect's certificate of registration shall be held
<br />at Ieast annually at such time and place as the board
<br />determines.
<br />(2) The board shall determine the content, scope, and
<br />grading process of the examination. The board may
<br />adopt an appropriate national ezamination and grading
<br />pracedure.
<br />�3) APP�icants who fail to p:,;s any section of the ex-
<br />amin•rtion shall be pormitted to retake the parts failed as
<br />prescribed by the board. If the entire examination is not
<br />succcssfully completed within five ycars, a retake of the

<br />�1O""'�o4 use• (I) The director ahall issue a certifi-
<br />c•rtc uf registration to any applicant who has, to the
<br />satisfactiun of �he baard, met all thc rcyuirements for
<br />rcgistration upon p�yment a( the registration fee as pro-
<br />vidul in this chapt�r. All certif�cata o( registration shall
<br />shuw the (ull name of the registrant, have the registra-
<br />tion numbcr, and shall be signed by the chairman of thc
<br />board and by the dimctoc The issuance of a certificate
<br />of rcgistrution by the directar is prima facie evidence
<br />that the person named therein is entitled ro all the rights
<br />and privilegea o( a registered architect.
<br />(2) Each rcgistrant shall obtain a seal of the daign
<br />authorizcd by the board bearing the architect's name,
<br />registration number, the legend 'Registered Architect,'
<br />and the name of this stam. Drawings prepared by the
<br />rcgistrant shall be sealed and signed by the,registrant
<br />whcn filcd with public authoritiu. It (s unlawful ta scal

<br />registration or authari7ation hus expired, been rcvokcd,

<br />RCW 18.08.380 Reinstatement of revoked certifi-
<br />cates ot registratio�r—Replacement of lost, destroyed,
<br />or mutil�ted certificates. (1) The direcmr may reinstatc
<br />a certifiaate u( rcgistration to any person or a certificate
<br />of authuriz�tion to any wrporation ar joint stock associ-
<br />atian whose ccrtificate has been revoked, if a majority oF
<br />thc board vote in favor cF such reissuance, i( the bard
<br />finds that thc circumstances or wnditions that bro�ght
<br />about the revocatfan are not likely to recur and that the
<br />person, carporation, or jaint stockholders' association is
<br />thcn sufficicnUy trustworthy and reliablc at the timc rc-
<br />instatement is sought, and that the be,t interests o( the
<br />public will be scrved 5y rcinstatcmcnt of t:�e registration.

<br />RCW 18•08.400 Registration of out-of-strte regis-
<br />tranls. The director may, upun receipt of the current
<br />registration fee, grant a certificate of registration to •rn
<br />applicaot who is a registered architect in anothcr state
<br />or tcrritory of the United States, thc District of
<br />Columbia, or another country, if that individual's quali-
<br />fications and expericncc are detcrmined by the buard !o
<br />be equivalcnt to the yu�lifications and expericncc rc-
<br />quired of a person rcgistcred under RCW 18,08.350.

<br />RCW 18.08.410 Application of clwpter. This chap-
<br />ter shall not affect orprcvent:
<br />(I) The practicc u( naval architecwre, IanJscapc ar-
<br />chitecturc, engineering, sp�cc planning, interior dcsign,
<br />or any legally recognized profession or tradc by per�un�
<br />not regislered as architccts;
<br />(2) Dra'�ers, clerks, project managers, superintcnd-
<br />cnu, and other employees of architec�s, engincers, naval
<br />architxts, or landscapc architects (rom acting undcr thc
<br />instruceions, control, ar supervision o( their empluycrs;
<br />(3) The canstruction, alterrtion, or supervisiun uf
<br />construction af buildings or strucwres by contractors or
<br />superintendents employcd by contrac�ors or thc prep�r.i-
<br />(ion of shop drawings in connection therewith;
<br />(4) Owners or contractors from engaging persuns whu
<br />are not architects to observc anJ supervise wnstruction
<br />of a projecr,
<br />(5) Any person From doing dr;ign work including
<br />preparing construction contr:ict documcnts and adminis-
<br />tration of the construction contract (or the erectiun, en-
<br />largemen[, repaiq or alteration o( a structurc ur ony
<br />appunenance to � strucwrc, if thc structurc is to bc uscd
<br />for a residential building of up to and including four
<br />dwelling units or a farm building or is a structurc uscd
<br />in conncction with or auxiliary to such residcntial build-
<br />ing or farm building such as a garage, barn, xhcd, or
<br />shelter for animals or machincry;
<br />(6) Any person from doing design wurk including
<br />prcparing construction contrac[ documents and adminis-
<br />tcring the wntract for construction, erection, enlargo-
<br />mcnt, alteratian, or rcpairs of or to a building of any
<br />occupancy up to four thuusand syuarc fcet of
<br />cunstruction;
