7 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett affirming <br /> an ongoing commitment to building <br /> an inclusive community. <br /> WHEREAS,The National League of Cities recognizes that communities that promote <br /> inclusiveness,where all residents are given equal opportunity and fairness prevails, are more <br /> successful than those which do not; and <br /> WHEREAS,to promote inclusive communities, the League has formed a partnership to <br /> support those cities and towns which are committed to inclusion; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett has created numerous avenues to ensure its rich and <br /> vibrant population bring their various experiences and viewpoints into consideration; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Mayor has organized an advisory committee on issues relating to <br /> diversity; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett further promotes inclusiveness through its neighborhood <br /> associations,providing mini-grants to fund local projects that make a difference; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Everett reaffirms its <br /> commitment to inclusion as a fundamental aspect of our community and pledges to continue <br /> active efforts toward that goal. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Everett joins the National League of <br /> Cities' Partnership for Working Toward Inclusive Communities. <br /> Passed and approved this 27th day of September 2006. <br /> Mayor Ray Stephanson, Mayor Brenda Stonecipher, Council President <br /> Ron Gipson, Council Member Arlan Hatloe, Council Member <br /> Mark Olson, Council Vice-President Bob Overstreet, Council Member <br /> Drew Nielsen, Council Member Paul Roberts, Council Member <br /> l7 <br />
