The grant <br /> money will be used for advertising, food, services, and decorations for a USO dance honoring our senior <br /> veterans on Veteran's Day and Meditation Made Easier, a new health promotion program designed to reduce <br /> the effects of stress. The contract is awarded for a term of 4 months, September 2006 through December 31, <br /> 2006 at no cost to the City of Everett. By authorizing the Mayor to sign the necessary documents to accept <br /> the funds,the Everett Senior Center will be able to accept the funds. There are no matching funds required. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement and necessary documents with Snohomish County Human <br /> Services to accept the $2,550 grant award for two senior events: a USO dance on Veteran's Day and a <br /> Meditation health promotion program. <br /> 18 <br />
