Construction and demolition of buildings shall be in compliance with the provisions of the 2003 <br /> International Fire Code, Chapter 14. <br /> 11. Permits are required from the Fire Department for removal and installation of underground fuel <br /> tanks. <br /> 12. All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or closets with <br /> standard man door access. Locations shall be approved by the Fire Marshal's Office. <br /> 13. The location of Fire Department connections (FDC) and post indicator valves (PIV) shall be <br /> determined by the Fire Marshal's Office. If immediate outside mandoor access is available to the <br /> sprinkler valves (risers), a PIV will not be required. <br /> FDC and PIV locations will be approved by the Fire Marshal's Office. <br /> 14. Trash Collection -Dumpsters over 1.5 cubic yards capacity shall be located a minimum of 5 feet <br /> from the building [IFC 304.3.3, 2003 Edition]. <br /> 15. Standpipe systems shall comply with NFPA 14, <br /> (Gateway Corridor Policies) <br /> 1. The following arterials and highways are designated as "gateways corridors" for which particular <br /> attention will be given to the design and maintenance of public improvements and the application of <br /> standards to development of abutting properties: <br /> Broadway north of 41st Street, North Broadway, West Marine View Drive, Pacific Avenue, <br /> Hewitt Avenue, Everett Avenue, Rucker Avenue between 19`h Street and 43rd Street, Colby <br /> Avenue, Mukilteo Boulevard, 41st Street, Evergreen Way, Everett Mall Way, 19`h Avenue SE, <br /> 128`h— 132nd Street corridor, SR 526, and Interstate 5. <br /> 2. The design and implementation of public improvement projects undertaken in any of the designated <br /> gateway corridors identified above shall include aesthetic as well as functional considerations in <br /> order to support and enhance the visual quality and character of the city. Such aesthetic <br /> considerations shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate street trees and plantings, utility <br /> structures such as street lighting and traffic control devices,public right-of-way signs, retaining walls <br /> and pedestrian safety rails, bicycle lanes, transit benches and shelters, and other right-of-way <br /> improvements as appropriate. <br /> 3. The design of sites, buildings, landscaping and signs which are developed on properties abutting the <br /> designed gateway corridors should be of a quality that upgrades and enhances the aesthetic character <br /> of the City in general and the immediate areas in particular. <br /> 9 <br />
