Occupancy separations, or 4 Hr building separations though I don't see any locations that
would fall into that category.
We're working on this now. We will have 1-hour vertical occupancy separations & a 3-hour horizontal
separation. We will send this info soon.
3) Do you have specific designations you are using for the 3 areas aside from the parking garage ?
Not sure what you are looking for here-need more info.
4) Have there been any preliminary Design meetings with the City or Fire Dept regarding the project, if so does it have a designation
number, and what if any information did they provide?
We did have a Pre-App on 4-24-07. I do not have a designation number&formal meeting minutes were not
provided. On May 11th, we sent building areas to the Fire Marshall for fire flow review (see text below &
attached word document). We have not heard back. In a building code meeting with Tony Lee, City of
Everett, he made a phone call to Rick Robinson, Fire Marshall. He said, preliminarily, that the fire flow
would be 2875 gpm at worst& 1500 gpm at best and that the fire flow would be based on what's on top of the
Construction Type IA podium (above Building #1).
Hi Klaus,
Attached is a document containing the gross building areas for the calculation of required fire flow for the
proposed Skotdal project at Hoyt and California.
After meeting with Tony Lee last week, it was decided to break the building up into one 'podium"structure of
Type I construction with three separate structures on top. The Type I construction incorporates all areas on the
lower P1 and P2 floors. Of the three buildings on top of the "podium"the larger residential structure will be
Type III construction and the two smaller residential structures are proposed as Type LA construction.
Let me know if you need any other info.
Thanks.
Jeff Oaklief Architect
6
