This proposed ordinance allows for police to restrict or deny <br /> access to areas where there are threats during emergencies or where necessary to safeguard a criminal <br /> investigation. Any person who enters or refuses to leave an area so restricted can be charged with a <br /> misdemeanor crime. The ordinance directs that provision be made for reasonable access to areas by <br /> members of the media for the purpose of news gathering and reporting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance Relating to Authority to <br /> Restrict Access to Certain Areas, Adding a New Section to the Everett Criminal Code, Title 10 of the Everett <br /> Municipal Code(Ordinance No. 1145-85). <br /> 13 <br />
