The Agreement established the "Puget Pass" program as the region's initial effort to
provide a seamless fare media among and between the public transit providers in the Sound Transit service
area. The agreement was extended for one year in December 2004. The current agreement expires
December 31, 2006. The attached agreement extension is effective January 1, 2007 and terminates
December 31, 2007. The transit partners intend to replace the current agreement by December 31, 2007 with
a new agreement that reflects the reduced funding available for fare reconciliation in 2007 and through
implementation of smart card in 2008.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment Six to the Regional Pass and Fare
Reconciliation Program Agreement. 3:
Rt/AI/112906 Regional Pass Fare Reconciliation Agreement Amendment 6
