Section 62. RCW 46.08.030 Uniformit of a lteatlon. The

<br />shall be applicable and uniform upon all persons operating
<br />vehicles upon the public highways of this stato, except
<br />as otherwise specifically provided.
<br />RCW 46.00.060 Classification as omor o9 ncY
<br />veh lcles-A [oval of o orators. Any person. rm, corporation
<br />or mum caps corpora[ ondesiring to have a vehicle rogistoted
<br />as an authorized emergency vehicle shall make application for
<br />such classification to the state commission on equipment.
<br />Following such lnquirty as is considered necessary, the state
<br />commission on equipment may issue or refuse such authorization.
<br />The director of motor vehicles shall further require that there
<br />be submitted information concerning any person or persona who
<br />will operate such authorized emergency vehicle and it shall
<br />be unlawful for any such person, firm, corporation or
<br />municipal corporation and the responsible officer thereof to
<br />permit the operation of such authorized emergency, vehicle
<br />by any person not approved as operator thereof by the director
<br />of motor vehicles.
<br />RCW 46.00.065 Publiclyowned vehiclos to be
<br />marked -Exceptions. It shall be un aw u or any pu 1c
<br />officer avan9 charge of any vehicle owned by the state of
<br />Washington or by any county, city, town or other public body
<br />in this state and used in public business to operate the
<br />same upon the public highways of this state unless and until
<br />there shall be painted upon such automobile or other motor
<br />vehicle in letters of contrasting color not less than two
<br />inches in height in a conspicuous place on the left side thereof,
<br />the words "State of Washington" or the name of such county, city,
<br />town •r other public bodye together with the name of the
<br />department or office upon the business of which the said
<br />vehicle is used: Provided, that this section shall not apply
<br />to vehicles of the Washington state patrol, sheriff's office,
<br />police department, or any vehicles used by peace officers
<br />under public authority for special or general purpose:
<br />Provided further, That it shall be lawful and Constitute
<br />compliance with the provisions of this section for any
<br />department or office to adopt and use in lieu of the lettering
<br />required a distinctive insignia, approved by the state
<br />commission on equipment, and bearing substantially the
<br />same information as required herein.
<br />RCW 46 , O B.80B Liability of host for iniury

<br />without payment for such transportation, shall have cause of
<br />action for damages against such Owner or operator for injuries,
<br />death or loss, in case of accident, unless the accident was
<br />intentional on the part of the Owner or operator, or the
<br />result of said Owners or operator's gross negligence or
<br />intoxication, and unless the proof of the cause of action is
<br />corroborated by competant evidence or testimony independent
<br />of, or in addition to, the testimony of the parties to the
<br />action. Providod, That this section shall not relievo any Owner
<br />or operator of a motor vehicle from liability while it is
<br />being demonstrated to a prospective purchaser.

<br />Section 76. 46.14.0}0 Police to Enforce Title. All members of
<br />i o po ce department are hereby aut or ze an empowered to
<br />enforce the street traffic regulations of this city, and.all
<br />of the atate vehicle laws applicable to street traffic in this
<br />city, to make arrests for traffic violations, to investigate
<br />accidents and to cooperate with the city traffic engineer
<br />and other officers of the city in the administration of this
<br />traffic ordinance and in developing ways and means to improve
<br />traffic conditions, and to carry out those duties specially
<br />imposed upon said department by this ordinance and the traffic
<br />ordinances of this city: Provided, that in the event of a
<br />fire or other emergency, such officers and officers of the
<br />Fire Departnent and their designees may direct traffic as
<br />conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of
<br />thin title, and may, when necessary, divert or exclude all
<br />ouch traffic from any street, avenue, or public highway within
<br />the City of Everett.

<br />on each and every street intersecting the arterial street
<br />system unless traffic at any such intersection is controlled
<br />at all times by traffic signals, or unless the intersecting
<br />street is a one-way street designated for travel away from the
<br />arterial street: Provided, that when the findings of a
<br />traffic engineering study show that the condition of an
<br />intersection is such that vehicles may safely enter the arterial

<br />the installation and maintenance of a "Yield" sign,
