The new facility will provide storage, controls, and distribution <br /> for sodium hypochlorite (hypo), the WFP's primary disinfectant. This facility will replace the aging chlorine <br /> system and building, constructed in the late 1960's, and will provide improved safety and capacity. <br /> Notifications of Intent to Award were mailed to bidders on January 3rd, 2007. The lowest responsive bidder <br /> was offered by Pacific Crest Construction, Inc., for a cost of Four Million One Hundred and Fifty Four <br /> Thousand Dollars ($4,154,000.00)plus 8.6%sales tax for a total of$4,511,244. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Award the New Hypochlorite Facility contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Pacific Crest Construction, <br /> Inc. in the amount of$4,511,244.00 and authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with Pacific Crest <br /> Construction, Inc. <br /> 15 <br />
